West led Custom Building Company into the commercial construction
industry by the late 1960s. As the company expanded, family
legacy continued with West's son Pete, who worked in business
from his teen years through college. After his father's
passing in 1981, Pete assumed the company's helm, reincorporating
in 1985 with an unlimited general contractor's license.
