In 2018, Marshall’s was opening its first location in Greenville, while Michael’s was looking for a new, larger space. Custom Building Company was challenged to take an old grocery store left idle and convert the space into two new retail locations. The interior of the 50,000 square foot space needed to be gutted with grocery store equipment, HVAC units, floor and light fixtures needing to be removed. Our contractors worked with the owner and designer for more than a year to produce the design concept and work through the lease negotiations. One of the biggest challenges during the project was taking the blank facade on the outside of the building and transforming it into the prototypical look for both retailers.
